From Beer To Eternity cover revealed

Throw a bunch of b-sides, demos, live tracks . . . . something other than just the same damn regular album. I don’t feel like paying $100 for Relapse just so I can get a Zippo and a shot glass.

This exactly. Box sets take up a lot of space on your shelf and therefore need to be worth the space. I’m going to pass.

From Beer to Eternity is the first Ministry album, if I recall correctly, to have different exclusive bonus tracks on the CD and vinyl editions. So you have to get both to hear it all, but since the bonus tracks are just remixes, they’re probably not too essential.

the last sucker had following different bonuses:
bestbuy version - 2 remixes (also available on some other editions i think)
itunes version - 1 exclusive remix
napster version - 1 exclusive remix (different from itunes version)
japanese version - 1 exclusive remix (diff. from napster/itunes)

i dunno if that counts, since not all of those are physical formats, but there you go. fuck modern ministry “remixxxes” anyway.

These mixes were later released on The Last Dubber. I’m sure Relapse and From Beer To Eternity will follow suite.

RelaXXXed - Ministry presents lounge versions of 123 Potato and all your other favorite songs.

[reply]Did it really come with poker chips? The fuck does that have to do with anything even? Is playing poker a theme on the album or some crap?

Hahahahahaha! Not that I recall. [url http://www.amazon.com/Relapse-Special-Fanbox-Edition-Ministry/dp/B00DT52AP6/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1374270729&sr=8-15&keywords=ministry+relapse]Here it is again, for review. And only $100![/reply]

Wow…

I pity anyone dumb enough to spend the $136 plus shipping on that.

You don’t get huge by pushin’ a wagon. If you want to get ripped like Al you gotta drag around a net full of bitches.

That’s actually pretty cool/

That looks awful. For some reason it reminds me of that crappy Sucker Punch movie that come out a year or too back. Just the look of it. To be honest, I never really followed Ministry through the Paul-less years. And having listened to some of the newest material recently on youtube, I’m glad I didn’t.

Some of the tunes I’ve checked out in the last 24 hours:

Ganggreen
Waiting
Fear is big business
The Last Sucker
End Of Days

And they are all awful. Not just ordinary, but shit awful. How did they get this bad? Am I missing something?

Actually, now that I think about it, the last new Ministry release I actually own or have heard is Sphinctour. That was years ago. Fuck, no wonder it all seems so fucking strange.

Yea, it’s kind of cool in a wicked/lesbian/goth kind of way I guess. But, the name of the album sort of ruins the whole experience. “From Beer to Eternity” is a name fit for a country album. I would expect it to have songs on it like “She Loves my Tractor” and “There Ain’t No Party Like a Weenee Roast Party.” All of the other Ministry album names were somewhat clever, I guess, but this one just doesn’t fit.

Plus that title has already been used by The Macc Lads and and it’s also a couple of book titles and tv show titles etc…

No, you’re not missing anything. But the band is…

Those are heinous selections you happened into. Unfortunately it’s difficult to recommend many stronger songs from the Paul-less years. At best, it would be a light prick tease. At worst it might soil your memories of the Ministry you enjoy, and that might already have happened. Go for these songs?

  • No W
  • Worthless
  • Warp City
  • Worm
  • Khyber Pass
  • Die in a Crash
  • Bloodlust

No lie. “Weekend Warrior” is my favorite track on the album.

I’d say the highlights of post-Paul Ministry mostly are on the album ‘Houses of the Mole’, the first one released post-Paul.

Anything after that album is very spotty and mostly really bad, but that one is worth getting.

Maiden have a song of this name that’s about football hooligans. Unfortunately it’s not very good and was recorded during those years when Bruce’s voice was shot.
