For the Godflesh fans

is that broadrick singing?

Yeah,Broadrick is the only one to do vocals for GF…

Lame.
They should’ve done “Fly To The Angels”.

In a recent interview JKB said the new GF will be out in May 2014…

That’s pretty impressive after hearing him sing on jesu for all these years and then hear this out of him. I do own the Slavestate album but I don’t think he sings like that on any of it.

Fly to the angels would make an awesome cover!

Yeah he always sang like that with Godflesh…I saw him with GF live last year in Baltimore and his vocals sounded great…all the recent live clips suggest his vocals are holding up…

I thought the vox sounded kinda weak. Like a crap imitation of that demonic voice he used on Streetcleaner. The Paul Nevilleesque guitar made the whole thing worth it, though. I’m still stoked for the new album, and seeing them on 10/26.

Couldn’t disagree more…I think his vocals sound stronger than they have in a long time…you need to hear them live to get the full effect…GF live is a punishing experience…

It’s just on this track. Last live clip I heard was that show where they had to cut down some of the set and GC Green threw down his bass at the end. Anyways, Justin sounded fine there and that was awhile ago. I hope Godflesh cracks my top 5 best concerts list.

Thanx for the info on Messe btw.

Yeah no prob…

Oh,you are going to see GF out on the west coast, right?

In Oakland. I have a few friends going that aren’t on avalanchers, but it’d kick ass to meet some of you guys. I could get drunk and be the odd man out when I talk about how much Pure and Selfless is teh suck.

Haha yeah I know there are a couple of west coasters on lanchers but not sure who is going…I’m hitting up NY and Boston…meeting up with a few of them up there…less than a month…can’t wait…

Like one other guy who I don’t see post very often. The others are going to the LA show and that’s a 6-8 hour drive from where I’m at. I’m not that die hard for Godflesh.

Probably Monotremata…

Nope. I would remember if it was him.

I’ll be going to the NYC gig if anyone wants to meet up. I’m not nearly as obnoxious in person, as those who’ve met me can attest.

Regarding the new Godflesh track, I think it’s cool. That vintage sound. Vocals are a bit more gargly than I’ve ever heard them. The bridge or transition part seemed a bit confused. A very “live” recording, not too produced at all, but good sound quality. Definitely great to hear them back in action and I really love that bassist’s style of groove!

It’s nice to know they still know how to be Godflesh, unlike some bands who reunite and try to recapture the old identity but fall flat.

In a sense I was hoping for the new Godflesh to a modern, updated take, incorporating the new sounds and techniques from Greymachine etc. I still think that may be the case. This cover sounded like just a raw warmup to that, saying “we’re back fuckers!” Either way I know I’ll enjoy the new album.

Couldn’t agree more.

Sounded like a teenager aping his idol.

Very meh.

The music is bad-ass and totally old skool GF sound.

The vocals are horrible…how people are impressed by silly sounding vocals like this is beyond me?

Brilliant new JKB interview, guys…

Well worth a read. Talks about new Godflesh album.

Anticipation is building. Eight months and counting…

Thanks! Looking forward to when this finally drops in May.

I saw them live in 2010 or 11 and his vocals didn’t sound as ridiculous as that.
