For those on pins and needles waiting, our office has an Otari and a Tascam 1/4" tape machine in storage.
So if anybody wants to buy this, I’m happy to hook it up and try playing it for you.
And I’m glad to give 2:1 odds for anyone that actually thinks the tape has actual playable songs on it . . .
Also, I have a CD player and I can play both of those tracks for anybody if they’d like.
And for only $250 I’ll sell you my original Filthpig CD that was purchased at Magnolia Thunderpussy in Columbus Ohio on release day in '95. I’ll even write “Original Copy” on the CD for you as proof.

No thank you.
I only collect archaic and unplayable formats that look like they were found on the set of “War Games” from 1983, and I prefer that there not be any actual confirmed content on them.
Also, no need to get fancy. Just slap a piece of masking tape on it and write “Filth Pig Master” on it.
$20,000.00 sound good to you?
I’m a serious collector.
it doesn’t seem to be the case for this item, but watch out for dodgy “alt mix” reels for various bands being churned out by a con man from butler PA
he has a friend at iron mountain where various bands store their multitrack masters, he’s using the multis to churn out fake alt mixes then he prints them onto reels and passes them off as being original studio reels
so far I’m aware of his Nirvana & Led zep fakes

Easiest prediction I ever made…
Just to clear up a few technical points. That is a 2" tape and most likely the multi track master. Tapes deteriorate over time. A common practice is to bake them, This improves the quality but the catch is you can only play it 1 or 2 times before it’s ruined. People bake the tapes then transfer them to a digital format.
If this tape has never been baked and it contains the multi track takes and you have a machine it’s likely salvageable. If it’s already been backed and transferred, it’s a paper weight. Also, back then 2 tape machines were usually locked together, so even if you have the tape and successfully transfer it you may end up with half the parts.
*actually now that i look closer it does just appear to be the 1/2 inch mixdown master…making it far less interesting…
I think what you’re trying to say is that it is DEFINITELY worth $20,000.00.

That’s what I heard
