Farewell album.

waiting all this time for a live cd/dvd to come out and we get this?

[:(]

Let’s just play make-believe for a minute and say that Al is somehow sitting on perfect studio-quality versions of “I See Red”, “Love Change”, “America”, “So-So Life”, “The Eyes of Christ”, and all of those other rarities performed between between '81 and '86. Basically, the stuff we’ve enjoyed on this forum but has otherwise never officially seen the light of day.

Sad as it sounds, if 13th Planet released a CD like that (basically “Ministry Early Trax vol 2”), it’d probably sell nearly as many copies as the new REVCO, and there’d basically be zero costs associated with recording/producing/marketing it.

Come to think of it, I’d LOVE to know how well Side Trax & Early Trax sold for Ryko (despire the bad early mono pressings of Side Trax)

The last tour was not fun at all

I thought the setlist was pish and the sound was nowhere near up to par…but regardless I had a blast.

This is seriously what I’m waiting for, and probably would be the only Ministry purchase I’ll ever make again.

oh YES
there’s so MUCH early shit that is still unreleased, its almost like a crime.

and the long mixes of step and nursing home from dsots too!

Have any members of Ministry from that era said whether or not studio versions of those songs were ever made?

I See Red - Definitely recorded in the studio and was slated to be released on the Animal Liberation album.

Never Asked For Nothing - Almost definitely recorded in the studio, as it was slated to be a B side for Same Old Madness.

As for the others, I’m not sure. I do know there were quite a few tracks from the 1983-84 period in particular that were recorded in the studio, but never released. These included Oceanside Away, mentioned by one of our interviewees, and another song that I’d never heard of before that is slated for a song of the week in another couple weeks.

So when people read comments on this board and ask, “why do all these people post on a Ministry message board when they don’t even like Ministry anymore?” I offer up Bisquitodoom’s last post as the main reason. I love your little surprises for us, sir.

amen.
(uh…hard for me to shut up…)

I must admit that the Masterbatour was the shiznit.

Oh, HELL yes.

Yee haw!! See, those little gems Bisquit offers up basically make up for the rubbish Al keeps sending our way.

Just think, there’s basically enough Ministry material in a vault somewhere to make an entire album or two in between WS & Twitch…and probably an EP or shorter album predating WS.

I don’t know here if anyone here follows Gary Numan but I love what he’s been doing the past few years by revisiting his classic synthpop albums in the form of “album tours” of Replicas & Telekon to please the hardcore older fans while still doing his new metal/industrial stuff with a handful of reworked old songs tossed in for good measure. Numan’s been a lot ore prolific than Al over the years but also produced a LOT more rubbish…but even Numan realizes the strength of his backcatalogue. He keeps the long-time fans happy while trying to still pull in the younger crowd.

Don’t ask me why but I was checking out Ministry’s catalogue on itunes and the itunes album review for ‘Adios Puta Madres’ states the following:

“If you go by their fickle Internet forums, it may not even be a gift to the fans, at least not the ones who only covet the middle sliver of the band’s long doscog. The material here is pulled from Ministry’s last three albums, a hitless George W. Bush-hating concept trilogy that alienated some longtime fan club members - known as the P**s Army - while still yielding a high amount of prime material.”

It alienated the Piss Army? It doesn’t say where the review is from… I suppose we could have our suspicions.

Pointless post. [;)]

that is pretty funny. I doubt Angie wrote that though. You’d figure she wouldn’t even acknowledge the haters.
Late,

Since I obviously missed them the first time around, thanks for all the kind words, guys! It’s totally my please to share all the goodies that turn up. Check the download page for the latest that made it’s way to me. Many thanks to Prologue for the hook up!

HAHAHAHAHA!!! I love that this one got kicked up.
I saw several gigs on that last tour ever. I even saw the two last shows ever in Dublin where this was filmed/recorded. And then I saw a million more last shows ever…

LOL
quoted for posterity

It’s a nice souvenir of that tour, but not one I throw on a lot.

I wonder how much of it is genuinely live.

I have no idea.
I’ve never heard it.
I was kind of excited about the concert video coming out as I love when shows are documented that I’ve actually attended. But I TRIED to watch some of it on YouTube when a few tracks were put up. It was absolutely unwatchable. It was that spastic “no shots longer than 2 seconds” editing style and it literally made my eyes and head hurt. I tapped out after probably 30 seconds and thought I’d have a seizure. I don’t know who actually enjoys that shit and how the losers that did it got hired. I hope they got ripped off like so many others from the era.

It’s not the best, plus the shots from the festivals (where the fence doesn’t cover the full stage) are awkward looking.

I remember being told by a roadie that the Dublin shows were being filmed for the DVD. Clearly that idea went out the window quickly.
