Wow! Been constantly trying to join up yesturday till it got to the point where the invite told me to p*** off! (courtesy of the user limit.)BRUTAL! [:(] I’m lucky I have more than half of the stuff I want!
[EDIT]: Got it…It may be a day or two before I use it since I’m busy and using some other computer now.
oink is super restricted. It does benefit the user but be careful as in one second you will be banned.
well shit. i missed out on this one. this is what i get for not stopping by here in the past few days.
i’ll take an oink if its possible.
Thanks, Bisquit. This helped fill in the gaps in my collection, so it’s appreciated. I love the version of I Wanted to Tell Her w/ extended Shay Jones vocals…you know, for fourteen years now, until I finally saw the Minneapolis vid, I thought Shay Jones was a man! Oops. Anyway, good stuff.
I’m trying to get my ratio up so I can send out some invites, but the three things I downloaded no one seems to want…in the mean time, it’ll be up on Soulseek in the 12 Inches folder.
Could someone please seed it on Torrentspy for those of us who can’t go on Oink?[cool]
The drawbacks of being a lurker who rarely posts ;_;
Any more oink invites doing the rounds?

You should read the harsh rules on Oink. I personally think I won’t be there for long anyways.[:|]
EDIT: Hey, right after posting this, looks like my account was disabled pernamently for some reason by simply just activating it, I give up! Oh well![:(]

That’s why I asked for a kind soul to seed it on Torrentspy, Fulldls or any easily accessible site.
On those vinyl rips, have you done any post-rip cleanup on them (pop/click/hiss removal, etc.)?
I’m asking because in the past I haven’t done it on my rips, but I’m starting to work with it on my recent ones with some nice results.
Also: what kind of turntable/needle did you use for the ripping?
I usually clean them up a little. I use Adobe Audition. Always a pop/click filter and sometimes a little more noise reduction or equalizing, if needed. These are all fresh rips. Some of my older ones were done on my ancient old turntable. Those who have both versions should be able to easily tell the difference. My new turntable is a Sony PS-LX250H. It was the best one I could find for <$100. I just use the needle that came with it. I’m not that much of an audiophile.
Why don’t you put them on Pirate Bay (www.piratebay.org)?
No registration is needed there.
I just seed on Oink because it’s one of the sites I use most often. If someone who snatches any of my torrents feels like upping it to Pirate Bay, please feel free.
hey bisq, i remember leeching tons of wav files of you on soulseek - were most of these mp3 made from them?
Nope. These are all new rips. Most are vast improvements over my past rips.

I’ve just started working with Adobe Audtion as well, and I’m very pleased with it. It’s the first hiss/pop remover I’ve tried that I felt didn’t degrade the sound too much to be worth it. It worked wonders on an old cassette-only thing I transferred recently. I intend to do more with it in the future.

I spend about 8 hours a day on Adobe Audition at work.
I’ve found there’s very little I CAN’T accomplish with it.
If I may ask, Skarekroe, what do you do for a job?
And secondly, how can I get in on that?

Ok, I’m seeding some things on Dimeadozen now as well. Mostly just some random shows I’ve got sitting around. I’ll probably up a couple Ministry shows soon as well.
Ok, I put up the DVD version of the Revco 8/15/90 Houston show on dimeadozen. Enjoy. Should I keep up the updates on this thread, or just let you guys keep an eye out?
