Another crime of the bands getting shamed in that video is the lack of imagination that they apply when attempting to “shock.” If they really wanted to take a genuine risk, which I doubt they do, they could just as well flash the regalia of any currently active racist organizations at their shows, rather than one that was militarily defeated 70 years ago. They could certainly take their pick of the litter from current rabble-rousers like Golden Dawn (Greece), Right Sektor (Ukraine), etc…I might then give them a tiny bit of respect for having the cojones to get themselves put on a terror watch list in the name of their “art.”
As for their violent sex angle, god, it was maybe shocking in the hands of Nick Zedd or Whitehouse circa 1985, but in an age where a deluge of vile torture pron can be accessed with a few mouse clicks, this is not only dumbass material but also worthless for sparking any kind of a debate on the topic.
So, ahem, yes - good for Cocksure for providing aggressive music without the cloying attention-seeking gimmicks.

As for Combichrist - love those dudes. Seen them live many times. They work hard and tour like crazy. But if you are looking for “thought-provoking” lyrical content, you aren’t gonna find it there.

In regards to the video, or at least in regards to Combichrist… I saw them in concert a couple of times and blew away just about any other concerts I have seen lately. I didn’t really care for all of the profanity in the lyrics but I don’t really care what they stand for. I certainly never cared what Ministry stood for. Seems like a lot of pop music in general has degraded to a bunch of “F this, F you” type lyrics and that goes across the board from rap to rock to industrial. I’m not sure what the point of it is. Is that what it takes to turn kids on these days? It certainly is what it takes to turn me off.
I guess it all comes down to the ‘execution’. Both Combichrist and classic RevCo seem to be built from a blueprint of total irreverence, but the newer band here just strikes me as trying way too hard to make a point about how everyone is essentially fucked. There’s a streamlined fashionable slickness to everything I’ve seen / heard by them, which is admirable from a technical standpoint, but it seems at odds with a nihilistic attitude - you know, everyone is an asshole, but please recognize me as cool and buy my record. I never got that impression from the Cocks’ work.
On an amusing side note, one of the Combichrist songs I remember - “I’d Like to Thank my Buddies,” I think? - takes its main lyric from a Skatenigs song…so there we go, six degrees of Revolting Cocks…
