the new thing isn’t female bassists, now it’s female keyboard players. i’m waiting for the eddie Van Halen of female guitarists to come around though.
Two female keyboardists from back in the day who are not the token “chick” in the band are Jarboe, and Mrs. Fiend, but I know what you mean. I imagine it would ruffle a lot of feathers if a female emerged who could play like Van Halen or Yngwie Malmsteen. Those type guys tend to have a guitar complex if you get my drift.
