Best Album Openers

Well, maybe ,it was around when that whlole mqueen thing was happening and he had a studio site which feat. new songs as a demo of his production tech. Sow came out so maybe <pig>

Yeah those king ink songs are never coming out. And even if they do only the hardcore PIG fans are gonna know about it

Who knows anymore? And even if just the hardcore pig fans know about it, word will travel eventually.

And… Great Big White World is amazing! You’re nuts. Jk. I think it meshes well with the others. Very solid album and probably the last one before he tried doing “too much”.

hmmm?[;)]

Golden Age Of Grotesque was the last awesome album he did imo. Eat Me Drink Me had its moments and High End Of Low had less moments. I think he still has some good shit in him

[reply]Marilyn Manson - Great Big White World

Couldn’t disagree more that song barely fits with the album it should’ve been buried some where in the middle of the set. I think the title track (my favorite track on the album) should’ve kicked off the CD.

I think Reflecting God is a damn fine opener as well if were looking at Marilyn Manson[/reply]

Hell no! That is really just a bad idea and I couldn’t disagree more.

And “Reflecting God” is not the first track on any album…

EDIT - Yeah I guess it is technically the opener on ‘Last Tour on Earth’ since the first track is an intro…but not really.

Sorry I meant Irresponsible hate anthem…
(Reflecting god is my favorite track on ACS that’s probably why I wrote that.) I’ve always liked the line “I wasn’t born with enough middle fingers.” that song is loud ruckussy and just a sweet way to set the stage for that whole album.

Void, I know you are an expert on all things Marilyn but you are wrong with Great big white world that song is mediocre at best and anything opposite you try to say is just wrong and grounds for you to lose your Marilyn expert status [:P]

Stick to yr guns Grmpy.

Atta boy!!!

GBWW is a better song in the middle but if you (grmpy) knew the whole story of Mechanical Animals you’d understand why its the opening track

Do tell I’m all ears surprised void hasn’t droppped this story on us yet.

Ok Im shitty at explaining things and Im sure void will fill in any info that I’ll most likely miss cause I forgot most of the story but here it goes. Antichrist, MA, and Holywood is a concept trilogy that was released in reverse chronilogical order, meaning Holywood was the first part. The main character of the story is some dude named Adam. He kills himself at the end of holywood and is transformed into Alpha. Alpha also has a rock star alter-ego named Omega who leads the band Omega and the Mechanical Animals. GBWW explains Adam/Alpha’s fall from heaven, hencewhy its the opening track. Half the album is from Alpha’s POV and the other half Omega. Which explains the two different album covers. Heres the rest of the Alpha songs:

Mechanical Animals
Disaccociative
The Speed Of Pain
Posthuman
The Last Day On Earth
Coma White

Coma White is also the name of the girl Alpha’s in love with. The lyrics of the song explain her fate in the whole story. But I barely gave you the just of the album. Void can explain the entire story. VOID, FILL IN THE BLANKS PLEASE

I already knew most of that I didn’t know the track order was affected by it though.
