Bands you were into before you were cool?

Korn was the only shitty band for me.

But I still reckon the music on their first 3 albums is great. Fuck the singer’s shitty histrionics off, and the music is actually pretty good.

Yeah it is really good. In fact I like some of their later stuff too I think Untouchables has some really interesting shit.

I think after that the band took a complete nose dive.

But yeah they had a really unique sound and were good it’s just the singer is annoying you have to tune out the shittiness and thematically repetitive lyrics sometimes.

The themes never seemed to really evolve beyond the whole white trash “broken home” fucked up childhood shit.

Korn was ok. I saw them open for House of Pain way back in the day which was pretty freaky. (First time I heard their stuff).

I still listen to their first two albums every once and a while.

I’m still a korn fan. But I can definatly say that theyre last album sucked ass

I had the benefit of having a cool older sister. So since the age of 11/12 id had a goth/grebo musical upbringing. And the likes of Fields of the Nephilim , Levellers , New Model Army , Pop Will Eat Itself , were constantly on in our shared bedroom

but…

I did buy The Turtle Rap ft Vanilla ice on cassette with money i earned washing the neighbours car [blush][blush]

Hello everyone btw . Im new here. Nice site ! found out loads of new stuff and tracks i had not heard before on here…cheers

Welcome

Body Count Muthafucka!

I remember I was really surprised when I found out they were black.

Nothing wrong with the first bodycount album.

KKK bitch. Copkiller.

Think i’m gonna listen to that today actually…

I like it too. KKK bitch is awesome. A good karaoke song.

“I got mad
my dick got hard
entered in her ass
she said: oh my god!”

Epic!

The Rapture. I remember seeing them on a bill with…The Locust if memory serves and wasn’t aware that “House of Jealous Lovers” was getting a lot of attention. Put on a great show with a really cooperative audience. Echoes came out and they become the next Pitchfork darlings and then next to nothing for years outside of a follow up album that tried to rewrite their hit ten times over. Disappointing but I’ll still remember their show being very energetic and memorable.

Korn was ok.

I own their first album admittedly. Bought it waaaaaaay back in the day. But I never really listened to it much, not even way back when. There’s a couple of decent tracks here and there but overall they seem to take themselves far too seriously and think themselves far more scary and ‘intense’ than what they really are - a teenage-y Faith No More/Hip Hop/Sepultura hybrid with fucken shitty lyrics and a singer who thinks he’s the hip hop metal messiah.

Also, y’ever notice that each member seems to have some sort of onstage gimmick? With the way they move and all?
