We saw MGMT a year or two back just after their first album dropped and they had no stage presence at all.
Sigur Ros was another lame show I almost fell asleep at. Other people at the show seemd to be loving it so maybe I just don’t like them.

[reply]Only one band comes to mind and that would be…
Ministry (C U LaTour)
Starting the set off with the first 5 trax from the last Sucker. Then a few from HOTM and stuff from RGB. Then the predictable classics NWO, Just 1 Fix and Theives featuring Burton from Fear Factory. Then they waste time on 3 covers from Cover Up. All in all the most disappointing show I’ve ever been to
QFT!! don’t forget the balloons… good god.[/reply]
I didnt get any balloons thank god
Sonic Youth has never really blown me away live. They’re not bad but they’re the sort of band that you’d expect to be amazing.
Nine Inch Nails on the “Lights in the Sky” tour were rather boring to me but that had a lot to do with the fact that I really don’t enjoy seeing arena shows and I was sitting up pretty high in the stands.
The Sisters Of Fog Machines
1002

Yeah that was one of those shows you had to have been on the floor for. I mean I was in the pit for a good number of the show. Yeah a pit at a NIN show sounds kinda silly but fun. I can also relate on NIN being a boring experience cause I was in a seat for the with_teeth tour in '05. Great setlist made up for that one though. Where did you see em at?
The one band that comes to mind in this post is Sister Machine Gun.
I saw them in 96 and they were amazing. It is still one of the best shows I have ever seen. I remember Hole in the Ground, Negative and Strange Days being killer.
A year later on the Metropolis tour they were boring, flat and pissy. I was so let down.
Ditto. Gravity Kills/Sister Machine Gun was my first concert and it was like crack. Wasn’t it called the “Burn Tour”? SMG was average when I saw them open for Type O Negative, and they were plain shitty the last time I saw them, which was 2004 or 2005?
Thrill Kill Kult sucked both times I saw them.
Unlike others in this thread, Sonic Youth was great both times I saw them.
The second time I saw Built to Spill bored me to death, but they followed Dinosaur Jr.
One of the 4 times I’ve seen Deftones blew balls b/c Chino was drunk off his ass.
Bands I saw for free or at festivals that I knew would suck and did not disappoint:
Aiden (possibly the gayest band ever)
3 Doors Down
All American Rejects
Finger Eleven
Goo Goo Dolls
Howie Day
Smashmouth
