Any Napalm Death fans here??

I love Scum, but didn’t buy anything for years. My fave recent albums are Enemy of the Music Business and Smear Campaign.

[reply]Not yet.

YOU SUFFER!!!

But why!?[/reply]

shortest. song. ever.

I know, right? [:)]

I’m more of a fan of their “newer, more metal” side. I would suggest the albums :

The Code Is Red… Long Live The Code
Fear, Despair, Emptiness

Enemy Of The Music Business

‘Code’ is decent ND. Definitely not their best.
‘Fear’ is probably their greatest achievement - the most consistent of all their releases.
‘Enemy’ and ‘Smear Campaign’ are a close second.

Words From The Exit Wound
Inside The Torn Apart

‘Inside…’ is…ok I suppose. Most of it is forgettable. It was made during somewhat of a transistional period for the band. It seems to lose focus at times.

And ‘Words…’ is half as good as ‘Inside…’. The lowpoint of their career without a doubt - actually, no, that would be ‘Diatribes’.

Napalm Death was always my favorite grindcore band just after Brutal Truth.

And then bands like Discordance Axis, Groinchurn, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, Commit Suicide, Pig Destroyer, Nasum, Blockheads, Vulgar Pigeons, Benumb, Scalplock, Koreisch, etc.

Someone spoke about Krisiun, but Krisiun isn’t grindcore at all, they’re a brutal death-metal band. Not really the same thing, music-wise and concept-wise.

In that optic, I would say that my least favorite Napalm Death album was always Harmony Corruption, one of their best selling albums, only because it was too typical death-metal to my ears.

Since Enemy Of The Music Business the band has found some sort of second youth, and the blastbeats are also more present in the last four studio albums.

I saw them a few times live and they have never disappointed me.

And if some think that sometimes they sound a bit too hardcore in some parts of songs, remember that grindcore comes first from punk, like hardcore, and not from metal…

Yeah, it’s only average Napalm. I like the stripped back production tho’.

Man, I can still remember when that album first came out (1990: yes, I’m THAT old) and reading mixed reviews it was getting by puzzled metal music journos.

Ah, those were the days…

Napalm Death are wee bufty panzy’s!!

The only cool Napalm record was Scum with the mighty spikey Justin Broadrick…if you don’'t believe me just ask my wee bufty homosexual Black Metal lover Jizzim!

This is where it’s at ya wee bufty radges!!!

DEVASTATING!!!

I’ve seen Brutal Truth live before they split up and again last year after they reunited again (less Gurn replaced by Erik Burke of Sulaco).
Great band, my all time fav grind band.

But to resume Napalm Death only to Scum is as stupid as the previous post… I could say the only cool Napalm record was Hatred Surge, but that would be even more stupid!

On a side note, for Napalm Death and Brutal Truth lovers, the new Venomous Concept album Poisoned Apple will be released at the end of next month…

i actually avoided brutal truth because i thought that cover looked fuckin stupid.

FOOL!!!

eh, i didn’t care for Brutal Truth after ‘extreme conditions…’

and that cover DOES look stupid.

eh, i still gotta say. scott hull is the grind king…
