Any gamers here

there is no way to play pirated discs without some type of mod on your system. this doesn’t always mean chips, though, as the old xbox was blown open with softmods, and i lost track of the scene for 360, but i think there is a dvd-firmware exploit if you are uneasy about an actual chip. if you are going to do this alot and/or want to still use xbox live, your best bet is to buy a second box, because eventually M$ will ban the actual system, but not you account, at first.

the xbox-scene site is a great and horrible place. if you are determined, all the info you need is there, but when you run into a unique problem, trawling the forums for answers can be time consuming and soul destroying. that said: i learned ALOT about networking, linux, and iso handling from my need to play NES games on my original xbox. lulz.

also, SKYRIM. i have 61 hours so far, and have only finished 2 “guilds” maybe half the main quest, and there are still two “guilds” to go and 3 major cities i haven’t even been to yet.

for the steam users out there please add catgoat and we can talk about how i am stacking fortify enchanting pots with forify alchemy pots with fortify blacksmithing gear to make uber dragonplate.

What catgoat just said. Softmod’s the way to go, but you have to be very careful or else you can brick your system. And going online with it is definitely a very, very bad idea. So if you don’t plan on playing online, go for it. But there are ways of playing games online with other servers, or there at least used to be (x-link kai for the old xbox).

thanks fellas.
I’m not that dedicated.

We recently ditched netflix and signed up for blockbuster which will send you games in the mail (as well as movies). thought we could rent the games and rip them with an elaborate bites/img burn type program then send back the originals.

We barely have time for video games anymore so it’s not worth it to buy them or rent them cause who knows when they will get played.

we bought harry potter lego when it came out (we’re a fan of the lego games- and we have to play co-op games otherwise the mrs. gets mad) and we usually blow through them in a day or two but we’re not even half way through it yet and they have already come out with the next installment of the harry series.

So yeah I was thinking I’d play an angle… but no dice.

Eh, all in all I basically buy old used games for cheap from Gamestop. You can walk out of there with like 5-6 games for $25, which is about what you’d rent them for anyway.

We’ve done that but the selection of co-op games is really shitty.

plus you don’t get the newer games for that cheap. Thanks for the advice though.

I feel ya. IMO though the best ones are the ones on the Arcade. Lots of old school stuff, plus new school stuff (like Castle Crashers for example) is great with 2 or more people.

The Wii, too, like Warioware or Trauma Center. Badass stuff.

co-op games. bah.

tell the mrs to take a hike, and play some assassin’s creed! =)

Word! New one’s pretty badass.

holding off…

think the wife got me the new one for xmas, so i have to be a good boy… damn it looks cool though.

been playing brotherhood just to get back in the swing of things…

I don’t see a whole lot available on the arcade. nothing i really recognize. I don’t like that you have to pay for credits either so I haven’t spent too much time there

Dude some of the co-ops are bad ass… I’m talking specifically borderlands… That game rules!! Wish Diablo would be ported over to the 360 that would be excellent

it’s easier to just find co-op than have to deal with the attitude.

shit, borderlands practically is DIABLO in a loot whoring sense, which is why i played it for 60 hours on 360 then another like 85 or so on PC. glorious game that is, and you won’t find a co op experience near as good. until borderlands 2 i guess.

“Oh good, this guy exploded into a fountain of ammo, cash, and purple/orange guns! Oh good, this shotgun also shoots rockets!, or, oh good, this machine gun regenerates it’s own ammo! This revlver has a fucking 4x scope and ACID dmg? and since i have specced for ammo capacity, this revolver has 13 rounds in it and now i am insta gibbing midgets all over the fucking place.”

Roland FTW.

Borderlands is one those games that was great and I regret never finishing.

In all honesty the end was kinda weak but the adventure getting to the end made it worth it.

Always figured it to be more about experience than actual story. Not sure why I quit playing. My attention span isn’t what it used to be.

[reply]Aw, I thought this was a general gaming thread. Guess I’ll save my endless roguelike morgues for Facebook, which is kinda all I use Facebook for, anyway. That and bitches.

Hijack the thread homie!!!

You don’t want a thread full of this.
