Al Interview 1986

Then the whole live in Gulag (is that what is said?) is a bunch of shit? Anyone wanna hook up a brotha?

Hmm…I seemed to noticed he still had that “quaint-British” accent when he speaks lol.

Thanks for sharing man. [:)]

Not sure if this is the same but here u go:

The Psychedelic Furs were involved with the first cd? Didn’t know that. He also mentions he didn’t do the English accent on purpose…haha. Two versions of I wanted to tell her?

wow, this is probably the oldest interview i’ve ever heard! thanks for posting! it’s funny how he uses british expressions lol…

woah! he said even if he were to leave ministry, the band would continue without him!? lolz yeah right…he also claims “here we go” is his favorite track! hahaha

how has no one commented on this yet? Revco, you should probably just start a new thread!

That interview was a freebie promo on tape that came out with the I Wanted To Tell Her 12’’ in 1983. Richard Skinner is/was a British music journalist.

I could’ve sworn we hosted it on here? Years ago? Eh.

Also, Vince Ely was the member of the Furs. Very underrated group. He co produced the record if I remember right…when the Furs broke up it was basically a wash. Ely does hotel renovation now, or something.

As far as the breaking point…pretty sure it was late 1983 or so, early 1984…after all it was the spring of 1984 that Al got Front 242 to do a mini tour with for the With Sympathy album (and their upcoming LP, Geography). Who knows.

The youtuber closed his account :frowning:

I don’t suppose anyone saved these vids did they?

I don’t have the vids but I still have the mp3s. I’ll try to set it up some time later today if you want.
Late,

And how come I’ve never heard anything about Crucial

I think he wanted to play with Crucial Taunt.

FUCK YES^

Christ. Tia Carrere is perfect looking. She was even cute in that garbage of a movie, Zombie Nightmare:

Yeah, she’s absolutely gorgeous, and in those Wayne’s World movies she was just at the apex of her perfection.

Now I need to check my TV guide tonight and see if any channels broadcast old runs of Relic Hunter.

I did. Got both segments on a HD. Did anyone happen to save the vids that Rey Washem uploaded a few years ago? I remember one was a practice session for the 95 Austrailian tour.

Any chance of someone posting this interview again? I saw it a couple years ago, pure gold! The mentioned “Angel” remix may be the “short version” on the Twitched CD, which carries the main beat throughout, although Al claims the remix doesn’t even sound like the original, so who knows?

I also would like to see that 1986 interview again as well.

Found a few you guys might have not seen before:

1993 short segment MTV interview w/ Al

2003 Interview w/ Paul Barker

I have a few interviews I noticed not on youtube, so I’ll be putting em soon on my channel.

Nice Barker interview. “We’ll never make the same record.”
If only Paul’s words stuck with Al.

I love how absolutely effeminate Paul sounds talking about anger.

SICK rehearsal.

I think Paul Barker has got to be absolutely the worst interviewee of any rock musician.
